Poppelsdorfer_SchlossAn over 2000 years of history makes Bonn one of the oldest cities in Germany.  The Collegium Leoninum is perfectly located in a relaxed setting in the heart of Bonn.  Within a few minutes’ walk you will find restaurants, pubs, cafes, shopping and nightlife.  The “Old town” is just across the street.  You may stroll down the pedestrian zone to explore the Beethovenhaus, or walk the “Path of Democracy” and admire the younger history of Bonn as the former capital.  Be inspired by the many beautiful museums in the centre or the Museum Mile.  Have a look at the many baroque buildings including land marks such as the Old Town Hall, the university main building, or the “Poppelsdorfer Schloss” in the Botanical Garden.  Enjoy the delightful riverside setting and beer gardens nearby.  Relax in one of the many pubs, restaurants or cafes or go shopping at the HARIBO factory outlet.

RheintalFurthermore, the Bonn region is considered the entrance to the Romantic Rhine.  The stretch upriver features vineyards, fortresses on cliffs and idyllic villages.  The nearby Ahr valley is similar romantic but also a climate niche that made the Ahr the most northern region dominated by red wine grapes. You may experience the Red Wine Hiking Trail.
