The application period for the winter semester 2023/2024, starting 1st October 2023, has ended!
Applications for the winter semester 2024/2025 will be open from 1st March 2024 through 1st May 2024.
M.Sc. Plant Sciences Admission Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree preferably in life sciences such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry,
Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology. Applicants with a B.Sc. in Chemistry, Physics, Forestry, Pharmaceutical or Geo sciences will also be considered. - Grade Point Average (GPA) for the B.Sc. study in the range of 70% of the maximal score or above (Equivalent to a German grade of 2,7 or better).
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Students must demonstrate English language proficiency through an official TOEFL (Test of English as
Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) certificate. The minimal
pass scores are 550 points for the written TOEFL, 213 points for the computer-based TOEFL, 80 points for
the internet-based TOEFL and 6.0 for IELTS.
The following applicants do not need to take an English proficiency test:
- Applicants whose native language is English
- Students who have a Baccalauréate degree from an institution of higher education where English is the
language of instruction - Provide a letter from the institution that issued your Baccalauréate degree. - European students who have learned English in seven consecutive years of upper secondary school
English classes (B1 level) - Provide your high school certificate.
